3. Apply for UWV funding
Discuss your application and motivation with your UWV work coach. Together, you will discuss how the course helps you get back to work.
4. Start your IT training
After approval from the UWV, you will receive all the information you need to start online immediately, at your own pace and where you want. This is because our courses are 100% online. You will receive guidance and feedback from experienced mentors and become part of an active community of ICT professionals.

Is the program full-time or part-time?
You decide how intensively and when you study—during the day, in the evening, or on weekends. Our instructors and study coaches are available during office hours.

What is a shortage occupation according to the UWV?
A shortage occupation is a role that is in high demand. UWV encourages retraining into shortage occupations, such as Front-end Developer, Data Analyst, or IT Service Desk employee. Winc Academy supports you in this transition.
What if UWV rejects my application?
Don’t worry—often we can strengthen your motivation together and submit the application again. If that doesn’t work, we’ll help you explore alternative ways to finance your IT program.
When can I begin?
After approval, you can start right away. Winc Academy doesn’t have fixed start moments, so you can get started immediately.
Do I need to pay anything myself?
No. After approval, UWV pays for the full program. It is important that you complete the program.
Do I need to arrange anything after approval?
No. After approval, Winc Academy arranges everything with UWV. You can start your IT program right away.
Can I follow an IT program without WW benefits?
Yes! Even without WW benefits, you can follow an IT program at Winc Academy. We’re happy to advise you on other funding options, such as TechMeUp or paying in installments.
How does UWV funding work?
UWV reimburses your IT program at Winc Academy if it improves your chances of finding work in a shortage occupation. Discuss the options with your work coach and our program advisors.
How do I know if my application has been approved?
You’ll receive an update from us and your work coach. Stay in touch with both.
How do I choose the right IT program?
You can also invite friends using your personal link via WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, or email. Successful referrals earn you prizes, and your friend can study for free.
How long does the UWV application process take?
Each program page lists the estimated study time. Based on your availability, you decide how long the program will take.
