After approval from the UWV, you will receive all the information you need to start online immediately, at your own pace and where you want. This is because our courses are 100% online. You will receive guidance and feedback from experienced mentors and become part of an active community of ICT professionals.

Is this an MBO program?
No. Winc Academy is not an MBO school, and you do not earn an MBO diploma with us. You follow a practical IT program of at most 9 months, 100% online and at your own pace, with guidance and feedback from experienced mentors. Some programs also include an industry certificate, such as ITIL® 4 Foundation for IT Service Desk Support and BiSL® Foundation for Functional Administrator. For UWV funding this makes no difference: UWV looks at whether the program improves your chances of a job in a high-demand profession. Looking for a recognised MBO diploma? Then an MBO program is the right route. Want to move into IT quickly and practically? Then Winc Academy is a good fit.
Is the program full-time or part-time?
You decide how intensively and when you study—during the day, in the evening, or on weekends. Our instructors and study coaches are available during office hours.
Which programs can I follow via UWV funding?
Through UWV funding you can follow these eight programs, and each one takes at most 9 months, so you finish within a year.

What is a shortage occupation according to the UWV?
A shortage occupation is a role that is in high demand. UWV encourages retraining into shortage occupations, such as Front-end Developer, Data Analyst, or IT Service Desk employee. Winc Academy supports you in this transition.
What if UWV rejects my application?
Don’t worry—often we can strengthen your motivation together and submit the application again. If that doesn’t work, we’ll help you explore alternative ways to finance your IT program.
When can I begin?
After approval, you can start right away. Winc Academy doesn’t have fixed start moments, so you can get started immediately.
Do I need to pay anything myself?
No. After approval, UWV pays for the full program. It is important that you complete the program.
Do I need to arrange anything after approval?
No. After approval, Winc Academy arranges everything with UWV. You can start your IT program right away.
Can I follow an IT program without WW benefits?
Yes. Even without WW benefits, you can follow an IT program at Winc Academy. There are five routes.
Your employer can contribute from its employer training budget.
Through the SLIM grant you may be able to follow the IT Service Desk program with no training costs. You do not apply yourself: the application goes through an employer or a partnership. Please note: the SLIM budget for employers for 2026 has been used up since 10 September 2026.
There are regional training budgets, such as Groei Vooruit and Haaglanden Leert Door. Which one fits you depends on where you live and work.
