From hospitality to marketing agency: how Sara (29) reinvented herself as a marketer

How did you end up at Winc Academy?

“I've been designing and creating content for friends for a while now. Insta posts, small campaigns, that sort of thing. Super fun. Only: I lacked knowledge about how it really worked. What happens after such a post? Who clicks? What can you optimize? I wanted to learn how online marketing works from A to Z.”

“Yes! I joined the course Online Marketing by Winc. And what immediately appealed to me: it's creative and smart at the same time. You'll work with tools like GA4, Looker Studio, build your own campaigns, and learn how to use data to make better choices. It's really not just 'posting a nice picture'. It's strategy. Analysis. Great to learn that.”

What did your learning process look like?

“I still worked part-time in the hospitality industry, so I mainly studied in the evenings. The great thing is that you set your own pace. The lessons are online, but not remote. You get feedback from mentors, ask questions in Slack, and collaborate with others. That gave me the feeling: I'm not alone.”

And how did the transition to the work field go?

“After my education, I immediately had the opportunity to work at a marketing agency. That was super exciting, but also a lot of fun. And the great thing: I felt prepared. I understood how campaigns are structured, was able to use tools, and immediately thought along with me on strategy. That would have been really unthinkable in the past.”
