Promising and future-proof occupations

In cooperation with the UWV, we offer training that significantly increases the chances of finding a job. We do this for people who are currently unemployed and receive benefits from the UWV. We do this by training people for promising occupations.

The UWV has a list compiled with these promising professions. This list provides an indication of, as the name suggests, occupations with a high chance of employment. Consider, for example, occupations in the ICT sector such as data analyst, developer or the profession of marketer. “Since 2021, the number of vacancies in the ICT sector has been growing. In the third quarter of 2022, there were no less than 34,700 vacancies open. This is only expected to grow due to increasing digitization. ” (Werk.nl, n.d.) 

Not only is finding a job important, the future prospects of a job also count. It is therefore important to keep developing yourself in order to increase your chances of getting a job and to be sustainably employable. For example, digital skills, these skills are an integral part of our society and demand will only increase over the years.

To be able to apply for a promising and future-proof job, you need the right knowledge and skills that match the work you are going to do. It is possible that you (partially) have these knowledge and skills or not at all. Through Winc Academy, you can follow the course (s) to develop these skills. The UWV also offers a training budget for people with benefits to pay for these training (s).

Flexible and personal training

So you can choose to be fully retrained into a new job or learn additional skills to strengthen your resume. You can find all the courses that we offer through the UWV here. Our courses are flexible and online. This means that you can adapt your study times to your own situation. For example, you can choose to study full-time to get to work quickly, study only in the evenings, because you have a family, or because you've found a job in the meantime.

From experience, we know that this requires the necessary internal motivation. That's why at Winc, we have dozens of mentors and study coaches who can help you with the content of the course, but also with any motivation when you need that extra push. Don't worry, we're here for you.

When do you qualify for the UWV training budget?

You have a chance to make use of the UWV budget if you meet the following requirements:

• You are currently receiving benefits paid by the UWV (unemployment benefit, ZW benefit, AG benefit)
• In consultation with your Work Advisor, you can demonstrate that the course matches your skills and ambitions (contact us via werk.nl)

Good preparation is half the work

It is important to prepare well what course you want to do and to think about which job suits you. So here are a few tips to get you started:

• Follow one substantive webinar to gain insight into the subject matter, get to know the teachers and ask questions if you want.
• Do one sample pack to easily take a look at the learning environment and try out the course.
• Create a career test to see which IT career matches your interests and personality.
